this is the job

Responsible for identifying and procuring the goods for itsu’s retail stores, including identifying suppliers, negotiating prices, and arranging for the purchase and delivery of these goods in to distributor
Source to an agreed specification while collaborating cross-functionally to deliver the customer offer
Own, develop and implement the complete food, drink, and packaging procurement strategy allowing itsu to hit its commercial and sustainability targets
Line management responsibility for the Supply Chain & Product Analyst, who assists the team with forecasting and supply chain performance insight
Reports to the Commercial Director, who oversees Buying, Logistics and Technical Departments
Supports the development of colleagues and help manage their personal growth

Core Procurement Buyer duties and responsibilities.

Identify Purchasing needs of the organization.
Work collaboratively with Food Team, including Founder, to tailor buying to the customer focused food development plan
Purchase and source suppliers in line with itsu’s sustainability policy and procurement strategy focusing on buying better, to itsu’s quality standard, fit for purpose
Quick reaction to market and business needs

Negotiate with Suppliers
Get the best possible pricing and payment options – treat each pound as your own
Contract management- Bid, award and administer
Cost management to identify areas of potential cost reduction and analyse the impact of pricing changes for goods
Support with inventory Management

Supplier Management
Build/maintain relationships with suppliers and manage their performance
Conduct routine supplier business reviews, evaluating supplier performance and compliance. Cross-functionally with technical and logistics
Regular cross-functional supplier visits
Annual supplier planning with strategic suppliers

Procurement Strategy
Drive the development and implementation of itsu’s long and short-term procurement strategy
Take responsibility for delivering a strategy that allows itsu to meet its business and sustainability targets

Line Management
Line manage the Supply Chain & Product Analyst, developing their commercial and insight skills
Ensure Supply Chain & Product Analyst deliver high quality forecasting and supply chain performance insight
Educate the Supply Chain & Product Analyst in buying so that they can take on this responsibility within itsu

This is you

Minimum 5 years’ experience in procurement in the food and drink market, with minimum 2 years experience in Food services, preferably Food-to-Go 
Food and drink supplier awareness, with initiative to enhance the sourcing of our product portfolio
Excellent negotiation skills and commercial acumen
Strong analytical and modelling skills
High verbal and written communication skills, with confidence and ability to influence at all levels
Strategic thinker, with a capability to get things done
Good organisation skills, and the ability to multitask
Technical expertise a plus; is it safe, is it suitable, is it recorded

Driven and ambitious, with the energy to work within a growing, fast paced business
Assertive and confident in ability to get tasks done
Enjoy working as part of a team, with the ability to lead others and work cross-functionally
Up for being challenged, and challenging stakeholders
